Lady Gaga has just announced in her social media accounts that she is pushing back the release of her much-awaited sixth studio album called Chromatica until further notice because of the COVID-19 crisis. The Born This Way singer had previously scheduled the release of Chromatica on April 10, 2020. She said in a statement:

“This is such a hectic and scary time for all of us, and while I believe art is one of the strongest things we have to provide joy and healing to each other during times like this, it just doesn’t feel right to me to release this album with all that is going on during this global pandemic.”

She added:

Instead I prefer that we spend this time focusing on finding solutions. It’s important to me that the attention is on getting essential medical equipment to healthcare professionals, making sure kids who depend on public schools for meals get the assistance they need, and that we help those who will be financially impacted by this pandemic.

Further, Lady Gaga said that MGM had already postponed her Vegas shows from April 30 to May 11 because of CDC’s guidelines about public gatherings though she is hopeful that her other Vegas shows scheduled for the rest of the month of May will continue. She also still plans to see her Little Monsters for her Chromatica Ball tour this summer.

In addition, Lady Gaga revealed that she has a lot of other fun surprises, some of which she said she will share very soon. This included a supposedly secret Coachella set that coincided with the release of her album but the festival was postponed as well from April to October.

Lady Gaga ended her statement by reminding everyone to practice kindness in these trying times. She added, “To my fans, I love you. I know you are disappointed. Probably angry and sad… I hope you can see that when the album does come out, I want us to be able to dance together, sweat together, hug and kiss each other, and make it the most bombastic celebration of all time And until that time comes, LET’S ALL STAY HOME!”

Mother Monster released the first single of Chromatica called Stupid Love late last month.
