So, Tom Cruise… I’ve been crushing on the guy ever since high school, I’m in my 40s now and he’s still Tom Cruise. Since we talked about Interview with the Vampire recently, I thought we should dedicate an entire post to Tom Cruise as well.
Anyway, the guy is not just an actor; he’s one of Hollywood’s most bankable stars who have won numerous acting awards, foremost his two Golden Globe awards for Best Actor (Born on the Fourth of July, 1989 and Jerry Maguire, 1996.) He also won, among many others, the Best Supporting Actor award for his performance as Frank T.J. Mackey in Magnolia (1999)
The man has many talents: he can sing, he can dance, he can play the guitar, and he is a licensed pilot! But most of all, what I truly like about him is his beautiful smile and his giving heart.
Tom Cruise supports many charities, among them are: Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes, Children’s Hospice & Palliative Care Coalition, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Hollywood Education and Literacy Project (H.E.L.P), and Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation to name a few.
My favorite Tom Cruise movies include the Mission Impossible franchise, Top Gun 1&2, Interview with the Vampire (1996), The Last Samurai (2003), War of the Worlds (2005), Edge of Tomorrow (2014), and Jack Reacher 1&2 among many others. Unfortunately, I have yet to watch the movies where he won the awards mentioned above.
Having said all that, Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick, will be back in theaters this weekend starting this Friday, August 12, 2022. If you haven’t gone to see the film yet and you don’t have plans this weekend, now is the best time to do so as according to reports, fans will get a glimpse at behind-the-scenes clips plus viewers will receive some freebies. Top Gun: Maverick, has reportedly already eclipsed Titanic at the box office and is now the seventh highest-grossing movie of all time in the US. Watch its trailer below.

Anything Tom Cruise is a huge turn off. Yuck.
Agreed !
Agreed
Daniel Craig was smart enough to quit being Bond when it was time. He left on his own terms.
Some simply do not know when to walk away
personally i never got into the guy, from his earlier movies (the first Top Gun, Risky Business, Cocktail, Days of Thunder, etc.) to his more recent works (his Mission Impossible movies, Jack Reacher movies and the second Top Gun), i just could never click with him .. maybe he’s too smooth for a white dude? (he don’t have any body hair, not even facial hair) .. and he doesn’t seem to age at all, which is rather unusual .. could it be the whole Scientology thing, honey? is there something in that religion that makes this dude so .. untouchable?… Read more »
100% agree!!!
Agreed, not only does he suck he also blows.
LOL
Can someone please get this geriatric, mediocre actor who got lucky in the 80s a couple of times with decent movies, permanently off the screen? Thanks.
LOL
Call me biased, but he always struck me as arrogant, which bled through in his posture, no matter what he was doing. He also seemed to have dead eyes. I recall other performers who seemed to have the same negative projection. Then I found out they all were scientologists, as one of them broke away and began exposing what the organization is like. That explained it for me. I had no idea he gave to so many charities. I’m sure that counts for something, as it should! But I still feel a personal disdain for him, foundationally, and that is… Read more »
Agreed, i see him as the arrogante, you can’t touch me as i’m invincible .. and then yes, there’s the whole Scientology overtly religious character in him .. mysterious, and best to just leave him like that
Anytime I’ve watched a Tom Cruise movie all I’ve ever seen is Tom Cruise, not the character. Had to walk away from his films. Not that he’s a bad actor, I just can’t get past his larger than life everyday persona.
It’s great that he supports so many charities! Many many, most, of the those who have his income do! They’d rather give their money to charities than to the government in taxes.
Many, many, many of the charities he supports, become tax-write-offs, at the end of the year.
His Publicist(s); and Financial Advisors recommend what charities are particularly good to support and to promote his humanity and to deduct…accordingly.
Charities aren’t always indicative of Human Kindness; more often they are indicative of sound publicity and financial wizardry!
Where’s Shelly?
“I just can’t get past his larger than life everyday persona”
i don’t see how he’s ‘larger than life’ either, if the dude is only 5 feet 7 inches tall, honey! that ain’t tall whatsoever for a caucasian man, even some of his female co-stars and former wives such as Nicole Kidman and Kelly McGillis are around 5 feet 10 inches or so!
The movie Jack Reacher that he did was a movie I saw a character not just Tom Cruise. I went to see Top Gun Maverick and I really liked the movie as a whole.
The best movie was the one where he was a naked bartender. Nicely hung, too. I like him, but not his movies. My cousin was his therapist, but she didn’t say much. Scientology helped him a lot, she claimed. Like George Clooney, he knows how to be a star, and maintain his charm and allure. Ditching that wife probably helped. So who is (are) the man (men) in his life?
Yawn, next please!!! I’m not a real fan of his, just like/love action movies about law, military/Cia etc., but really him as a being or human, I’ll pass; he’s physically attractive, but sick of pathological “white” dudes, I make no apologies, either aight, SUCK on that.
pretty sick how you people are allowed to take a dump all over White people the way you are in today’s society yet still claim somehow that you are victims. Incredibly hypocritical.
Well, are you pathological, dave patterson? Maybe comprehension is not your thing, because I rather clearly specified “pathological,” white dudes, so, if that’s you, just sayin’. If the hat fits, otherwise, it’s not about you, see.
I’m sick of pathological dudes who live by race tinted glasses
. . . Dave and George, lmao, look around you at todays and historical evidence. It’s not at all, “hypocritical” it may be sick, though, but that’s what happens when you live in a sick country that is “race” or color obsessed.
Buddhism 101 “cause and effect.” I mean, really, we didn’t start this fire, yo!
I don’t live in the past. My ancestors and most ‘white’ people’s ancestors had nothing to do with ‘that’ past. I don’t believe most people on this thread and this country for that matter gives a rats ass about how much melanin you have in your skin. You could be purple with pink polka dots and I wouldn’t care as long as you were a good person. Surround yourself with people want the best for you and the few morons that do have a problem with you, walk away. They are miserable, sour, pathetic human beings not worth your time.… Read more »
. . . Oh, my God!!! Are you really ‘that’ naive or what?
We are ‘all’ being FORCED to live in the past every day, the news, the politics, people in their everyday lives . . .
My whole beautiful life, dictated, by my beautiful color, not my abilities or homosexuality or good will, period.
The country was founded on “color”, “religion”, “sexism”, capitalism, ok.
It is presently, being held hostage of the aforementioned, you’re so in denial, must be really pleasant.
So, you’re gay/bi, right, hang on baby, it’s going to be a bumpy ride!
In a phrase “white nationalist”. . . they gave themselves that name. That should tell you something, my thick-headed friend.
There is a law passed, protecting the Asian Americans from hate crimes, you know why.
You got on here making yourself ‘fodder’ red meat, lmao!
Do you ever get out of the basement of self pity? I seriously worry about your well being. I hope you find help and sunlight.
Never was, never will be
Question: why are our comments up for approval? Do we no longer have freedom of speech? Why does there need to be some self-appointed qualified person behind the screen saying whether my opinion is valid or not?
they wanna make sure we don’t offend anybody, honey, so they said we need to be careful with our choice of words
In other sites, comments appear immediately. If there’s an issue, they are replaced with “Comments removed for violation of the Site’s Code of Conduct” (which is simple, concise, and readily accessible) with the member’s name still shown. This assumes no one can randomly post under any name they type; all posts are tied directly to user profiles. No profile, no commenting. Simple. It keeps people in line.
“Maverick is really showing his age, not remotely nor ever has been attractive. And seriously, as a retired Master Sergeant, “Maverick” would have been grounded long ago.
i don’t understand why Cruise had to wait ’til 30 years or so to have a sequel for this thing; it would’ve made it more plausible to have it at the most, around 10 years
Me either, but the first sucked as well, I don’t understand the bullshit hype of this movie. Perhaps the Scientologists have paid for the hype?
He is the typical Americana who thinks he’s got it going on
I saw 3 of his movies. That’s enough.
As an actor, he has a very limited range but his on-screen presence works well in action movies. His off-screen persona is way over the top and he’s not someone I would ever want to know. I admire that he supports numerous charities but he’s not likeable, to me, beyond that. That said, I like his “Mission Impossible” films (except the second one) and a guilty pleasure is that mess of a movie called “Vanilla Sky.” Don’t know why, but I like various elements of that film; and Cameron Diaz was pitch perfect. She was great!
why was he dancing around on Oprah Winfrey’s couch, honey?
I see again my comment was denied.
I think the moderator is S&M kinky because he likes to muzzle us Jim, lol
Can’t say that Tom is useless to the community, by they openly post that I was censored. Amazing.
I was put in the naughty chair again Jim. Apparently some people can insult you personally and when you go to respond with civility, you get censored. Guess some people have special privileges.
Anyway for what it’s worth I will comment with my new text to type issues given so much attention in the last 30 seconds that the first typo I see will make no difference to me. About Tom Cruise, I really cannot really claim a serious fanship because of reality and how many people like to do that but I did see him in real life at the David Letterman show when I was in the audience and he was promoting Valkyrie with my former boss who ran another dating blog as it turns out. I have not had a… Read more »
I threw up so hard my retainers flew out. Too boring, bad person and too light in the melatonin dept.
“and too light in the melatonin” .. yup dass cuz he got da dolla dolla billz, honey .. he can afford all that melatonin
Racist much?
I don’t blame him, either, unlike you (fake Indian=tom-and-wimpy) he is STILL Indigenous, regardless, ok.
He remembers who drew what line back in 1846 or thereabouts. No one believes you are actually, anyway. It’s just a lie you have to keep-up with, lmao!
More prowar propaganda brought to you by Hollywood and the US Department of State.
