Hudson Williams is everywhere these days. Recently, he starred in Laufey’s music video for her single Madwoman and he’s now the new face of Peloton as well.

Reportedly, Williams is set to star in several major projects, including the thriller film Apparatus, the Crave series Yaga, and Netflix’s The Altruists, in addition to reprising his role for Heated Rivalry Season 2.

But who is Hudson Williams?

You might have heard about the 25-year-old Canadian actor whose popularity has exploded in the wake of the success of HBO Max/Crave’s LGBTQ+ sports drama TV series Heated Rivalry. Portraying Shane Hollander, a top hockey player navigating rivalry and romance with Ilya Rozanov, Williams has quickly become a recognizable face in queer entertainment, fan communities, and mainstream pop culture.

Before Heated Rivalry, Williams appeared in supporting roles on TV series such as Allegiance and Tracker, and in films like All I Need for Christmas. But it was Heated Rivalry — a show based on Rachel Reid’s Game Changers novels — that propelled him to breakout recognition in late 2025, earning virality online and sparking a second-season renewal shortly after its premiere.

Fans quickly embraced Williams for his intense portrayal of Shane and for how the show explored sexual identity in a traditionally masculine sport. The chemistry between Williams and his co-star Connor Storrie has become central to the show’s appeal, leading to high-profile appearances together at the Golden Globes and other industry events.

Williams is often discussed in LGBTQ fan spaces for how his work resonates with real people. In interviews, he has revealed that professional athletes who remain closeted have reached out to him and the show’s author privately, sharing how the series has touched them. “The people who reach out, somewhat anonymously, who are like, ‘I’m a professional player still, and I’m still in the closet,’” Williams shared in an interview. “They’re [also] reaching out to Rachel [Reid], our author, who will then kind of relay these lovely anonymous emails.”

As Heated Rivalry continues to expand its audience and move into a second season, Hudson Williams remains at the center of conversations about gay representation in entertainment and sports. Whether he’s inspiring closeted athletes to speak up, walking on high-fashion runways, or leading viral storytelling on screen, his presence is shaping how gay men are seen and felt in 2026.
