Let’s talk about pubic grooming preferences. Do you keep things au naturel down there, or do you love waxing, shaving, or trimming?  For you, is it more about the physical comfort of being hair-free, or a conscious decision based on how you want to look? Is this a deeply ingrained habit, a fleeting trend, or something you do to feel more confident and to be more hygienic? What influences your nether grooming style?

We are diving into this topic because a gay man online recently asked, “Do you trim your pubes?” He added:

I’m Asian in Hawaii. I don’t trim, and I like it when it grows wild within the public triangle. I didn’t even realize guys commonly do this till a friend told me to, and I started to ask around.

Do you trim?

Do you shave?

Where do you live, and what ethnicity are you?

For some gay men, grooming is about balance, keeping things clean without going too far. One guy explained how it ties into his overall look: “I am white from Norway. I usually trim it down so it’s neat, but still there. As a person with hair on my chest, I find it would look silly being totally hairless down there, while I still want it to be neat.”

On the other hand, others don’t see the need to trim at all, like this guy who shared, “Heck, I don’t trim. I love it when my partner puts his fingers in my bush, and I get to do the same!”

In addition, some guys are trimming certain areas while shaving others: “White, US, brown hair. I trim my bush down pretty low, 3 guard, and shave balls and the random hairs that grow in the bottom side of my dick.”

Further, there’s also the perception that grooming habits vary depending on where you are from, like this guy who shared, “Yes, everyone in Europe does it. Trimming, I mean.”
Whether that’s fully accurate or not, it reflects how cultural norms can influence what people see as “standard.”

Meanwhile, some guys go all-in when it comes to hair removal: “I’ve had everything from my knees to my neck lasered off. Love it.” For them, it’s about long-term convenience and a specific aesthetic—no upkeep, no variation.

Then there are those who embrace the natural look completely: “Big untamed ginger bush.”
No trimming, no shaping, just letting their pubic hair be what it is.

Lastly, some gay men adjust based on the season or environment. One man admitted, “I do both actually. Normally shave in the summer due to heat humidity and sweat. Once it grows back, give a low, tight trim during the winter.” For this guy, practicality plays a role; his comfort changes depending on weather, activity, and lifestyle.

There’s no single right way to groom. Some prefer clean lines, others prefer natural growth, and many fall somewhere in between.

And often, it’s not just about what people like, it’s about what makes them feel comfortable, confident, and maybe even more attractive to the people they’re with.

Because grooming, like most things, is personal.

Having said all that, what about you, Adam4Adam blog readers? What’s your grooming style down there? Do you keep it neat, go completely smooth, or leave it natural? Is it about comfort, appearance, or habit? And do you care what your partner prefers?
