The debate online over whether men’s crop tops are hot or not has gained momentum as more and more male celebrities confidently embrace the trend. Crop tops were once primarily associated with women’s fashion, but in recent years, the look has increasingly been spotted on male celebrities, reigniting discussions on style, masculinity, and the versatility of this once-niche trend.
Celebrities like Jacob Elordi, EXO’s Kai, Harry Styles, and Bretman Rock are known for confidently rocking the crop top, making a bold statement about self-expression, style evolution, and body confidence. But what exactly makes this trend hot for some, and why might it raise eyebrows for others?
One of the key appeals of men’s crop tops is the confidence it takes to pull off such a unique look. Crop tops in menswear are still relatively rare, so seeing a man like Jacob Elordi, known for his role in Euphoria, wear one signifies a bold sense of self-expression. By embracing this fashion statement, men assert confidence, challenging traditional ideas about masculinity and style. This boldness can be very attractive, as it suggests a willingness to stand out and stay true to one’s personal aesthetic.
Crop tops have a history in men’s fashion, dating back to the 1980s when they were worn by athletes and in various movies. EXO’s Kai, known for pushing fashion boundaries, brings this nostalgic element back with a contemporary twist. Pairing a crop top with high-waisted jeans or bold accessories creates a unique mix of vintage style and modern fashion sensibility, making it a trendy look for fans of retro fashion.
Celebrities like Harry Styles and Bretman Rock have become known for challenging traditional boundaries in men’s fashion. Styles has worn everything from skirts to heels, while Rock is openly gay and non-binary and experiments with a range of gender-fluid looks. A crop top symbolizes freedom from strict gender roles, allowing men to explore their identity and fashion in innovative ways. By seeing stars confidently embrace crop tops, other men are empowered to break free from traditional styles, making the trend even more appealing.
Let’s not forget that crop tops show off a bit of midriff, drawing attention to the waist and torso in a way that’s both subtle and eye-catching. For men who take pride in their fitness or physique, a crop top offers a chance to show off in a way that’s stylish rather than overt. This is an appealing element that draws interest for both the wearer and the viewer, making it a hot look that highlights fitness and self-care.
Not everyone finds crop tops on men appealing, with some traditionalists viewing the look as unconventional or even impractical. Crop tops may be seen as counter to standard male attire, and some individuals prefer sticking to traditional styles. But fashion is an ever-evolving field, and as celebrities like Elordi, Styles, and Rock normalize this look, it’s likely that crop tops for men will continue to rise in popularity.
In the end, crop tops for men serve as a powerful symbol of style evolution, confidence, and freedom. As more celebrities join the trend, it’s safe to say that crop tops for men are becoming a strong fashion statement—and for many, that’s undeniably hot.
So, what’s your take, Adam4Adam readers—are crop tops on men hot or not? Do you think this trend is a bold statement of confidence and freedom, or do you prefer more traditional styles? I’m definitely not a fan of men wearing crop tops. Leave that clothing for women. I’m firm on men dressing like men. Men shouldn’t wear anything pertaining to women’s fashion. Men in panties, nylons, skirts, etc., total turnoff to me.
If a guy wants to wear crop tops, skinny jeans, thongs, short shorts, make up, long hair up in a bun … that’s his choice. Some other guy will find him attractive.
I agree with Matt (Black).
There is a current trend in Hollywood and in the music industry of trying to feminize men. They have masculine men wearing women’s clothing, makeup, jewelry, etc. I guess it has something to do with masculinity being seen as “toxic” these days. Totally ridiculous!
Good point. I call it emasculating, but same meaning. TPTB seem to want to reinvent eunuchs
another reason why heteros think we homos are sick puppies all about the moment with no substance
Lmao, some of us are, but so are some of them, clearly.
but not most of us
Yeah, I don’t think it’s most of us, but there’s enough of them though, that shines the bad light on us all, unfortunately. Which could be said for many groups/types of people, it always has, only taken a few bad actor/apples so to speak, for the rest of us to be judged as so.
Just like those who wear female undergarments or outfits.
Men so sexualized breasts and objectified female bodies that society forbids women to go topless. A man must keep “his” woman covered lest another man enjoy his “property.” Men, having license to strut and show off our manliness to impress each other don’t traditionally have or need crop tops: we just take off our shirts.
I wouldn’t say “man sexualized breasts” since so many other countries have no issue about being topless/nudity.
Then again, you can make the argument how our country shows violence in movies/tv compared to other countries,
This has gt to be the most idiotic thing I have ever seen. Looks more like the Gay Attention Whore starter kit! LOL
We’ve received your payment and your shipment is currently in the mail, neonaught.
Ok, actually, we already did this, across the board; (blk-wht-hetero-gay-male-female), in the 70’s, no big deal, I can take it or leave it, but it’s something for younger people for sure.
Or people that can rock it. I seen overweight females with huge bellies trying to pull it off. We all have our preferences. It may look good to some folks that like overweight people so to each his own. Lol
LMAO, correct my abs are ok, but I would not even try to rock it, it’s just not in my character anymore.
True, that, but my days rockin’ that are done, my abs are flat but not what they use to be, really check. But I just adore and love younger people doin’ their thing ’cause I did too, have ‘your’ time in the light ‘ it is fleeting.
Under normal circumstances, I don’t find them sexy at all. In the pics in the article, there are a couple of people performing onstage as part of their costume. I still don’t think the crop tops are sexy, but it works for them as part of a costume.
Crop tops with shorts, wedge sandals, and long fake eyelashes make some guys look absolutely fabulous.
Especially ones over 60, bald, with chubby necks, and bellies to match!
Fashion every guy should strive for!!
and RuPaul’s dragulation
Jacob Elordi looks good in one. But then again, he’d look good in granny panties and a pink wig.
I’m a downlow black married bi bottom, and when I meet guys I make it clear to them that in my everyday life I’m very masculine and straight acting but when I’m with a man in private I like to be who I want to be, because I consider that’s my private fun time, I let them know I like to dress sexy, meaning panties and maybe a crop top, I’m not into skirts, dresses or wigs. Just lingerie, and I’ve found that it’s plenty black dominant tops that prefer a guy in panties, infact it’s a ego boost to put… Read more »
Black man here and yes, I agree with you: married (to a female), bi, black, hypermasculine bottom men like being a bitch behind closed doors – works out great! Especially the ones who have a hard time getting dick because of the wife/GF/kids, etc. The bottom has a chance to relax and it’s all about him. Absolutely great sex. Ditto on the panties (or a thong under his jeans). I also like him in a teddy with the back out. Though, my favorite is a lace bodysuit. No wig, no heels, no makeup; not interested. Crop top? Hmmm…doesn’t work for… Read more »
No it’s not. Only see loud fags who act more worse than little girls wearing it. They think they shit ice cream but just a bowl full of cold diarrhea that no one wants to fuck.
Football players who are working out? Maybe. But as a fashion statement on the street? No. Twinkie K-pop stars? No. Stars on the red carpet? No. Gays in crop tops look like they should be headed to a circuit party.
They were fine in the 70’s.
No! It really has no style. Looks great on a woman, but not on a guy.
Like I said when I sold designer men’s clothing. I’m sure we can find you something more flattering.
Nope, nope, nope — although I do have a cut-off t-shirt I wear around the house. It’s generally not a good look for men.
Not. I want to discuss whether desire is sexier than the sex act.
If only Adam Sandler would wear one
Just like man buns, ponytails, excessive tattoos, & body hair:
HELL NO!
no not a fan
grotesque
Crop absolutely hot
Is it not more commercial pressure upon men to objectify themselves and maintain unnatural “six-pack” abs? Definitely bad taste, bad design, bad fashion. Anything that’s “Fashion” is usually bad, since the 1980s. It once stood for excellent design, workmanship, taste. Before the 1970s.
Twinks and fashionable gay boys have wearing crop tops since the 80s. Most wear it very well. I see nothing wrong with it.
Uhm, No.
Meh. I can take it or leave it. It’s fashion. What people (men and women) need to stop wearing are flip-flops – gross. News flash: that’s not a “shoe.” Even worse are Crocs. Americans like anything that’s cheap and looks trashy.
NOT!
If I wanted women, I’d be chasing skirts instead of a 501-basket filler.
Wear what you want but HELLA NO ~ NOT sexy to me on a GUY. NONE of the pix of the ones wearing them are attractive – just take your DAMN SHIRT off if you wanna be on exhibition!!! 🙂
As a member of Generation X, I recall our PE uniforms for males had the option of a half length t-shirt. I also recall wearing said t-shirt for PE along with many other male classmates at an all male high school.
Twink a Rama. Looks tacky AF. Heaven forbid a chub or bear wear something so hideous.
