Queen’s biopic titled Bohemian Rhapsody (2018, Dexter Fletcher, Bryan Singer), is now on Netflix, guys! The filmtells of Queen’s meteoric rise up to their unforgettable performance at Live Aid in July 1985 which, to this day, is being referred to as “the greatest live performance in the history of rock.”

For those who don’t know Queen, they are a British rock band with Freddie Mercury as their pianist and lead vocalist; while Brian May is their lead guitarist, vocals; Roger Taylor in drums, vocals; and John Deacon in bass guitar. They are often referred to as one of the greatest artists of all time. Their iconic lead vocalist Freddie Mercury on the other hand, is consistently called/voted as one of the greatest singers and performers in the history of popular music.

Bohemian Rhapsody stars Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury, Joseph Mazzello as John Deacon, Ben Hardy as Roger Taylor, and Gwilym Lee as Brian May to name a few.

I watched the film last night and I thought it was awesome! Rami Malek’s resemblance to Freddie Mercury is uncanny not to mention his acting was topnotch! Several award-giving bodies agree, in fact he won the Oscar for best actor at the 91st Academy Awards.

But most of all, the film featured great music. Some of the original soundtrack included: Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, We will Rock You, Radio Ga Ga, Love of My Love, I Want to Break Free, Somebody to Love, among many others.

Some fans and critics, however, have a number of complaints about the film. They said that there are several factual inaccuracies in the Bohemian Rhapsody film. Read their list here. Moreover, they said the film didn’t get Freddie Mercury’s sexuality right. That while there was a part in the film where Mercury did admit that he was bisexual, his sexuality was downplayed and there were few and far between subtle scenes that allude to his relationships with men.

That being said, Freddie Mercury would have been 75 last September 5, as their tribute, Queen released an amazing tribute video to the late singer through Freddie Mercury’s official YouTube channel.

Bohemian Rhapsody is available on Netflix on select countries only. However, you can also stream it on the following platforms: hulu, amazon, iTunes, Google Play, and VUDU. Click here for the complete TV viewing guide.
