Are you on OnlyFans, or do you follow some cute OnlyFans models?
Well, if you don’t know what this is, it’s a popular content subscription service based in London. The platform allows its content users to earn money from its subscribers or the “fans.”
OnlyFans has reportedly been founded by Tim Stokely in November 2016 and has since then, gained 130 million users, quite a massive number of users. The boom is being attributed to the pandemic, specifically to sex workers who were searching for ways to earn online amidst the COVID-19 crisis.
Last August 19, however, OnlyFans announced:
Effective 1 October, 2021, OnlyFans will prohibit the posting of any content containing sexually-explicit conduct. In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of the platform, and to continue to host an inclusive community of creators and fans, we must evolve our content guidelines. Creators will continue to be allowed to post content containing nudity as long as it is consistent with our Acceptable Use Policy.
These changes are to comply with the requests of our banking partners and payout providers.
We will be sharing more details in the coming days and we will actively support and guide our creators through this change in content guidelines.
OnlyFans explained that they have no choice but to “comply with the requests of its banking partners and payment providers.”
Last night however, the company reversed their policy. They tweeted:
Thank you to everyone for making your voices heard.
We have secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community and have suspended the planned October 1 policy change.
OnlyFans stands for inclusion and we will continue to provide a home for all creators.
Thank you to everyone for making your voices heard.

Variety explained that OnlyFans may have resolved its problem by going public and letting it slip that the company has a whopping “$300 million in payouts per month.” Read more about it here.

Of course, #OnlyFans reversed their ban. They were about to lose a ton of money just like #Tumblr did. This is America where money always wins out over principle
