Sometimes, the sexiest thing about a guy isn’t what you’d expect. Sure, big bulges and peachy butts get plenty of attention—but let’s be real, there’s something incredibly hot about the curve of a thigh, the scruff of a beard, or even the scent of someone you’re into. One gay man online put the question out there—and the responses proved that attraction isn’t always about the obvious. He asked:
“What’s your favorite male physical characteristic that’s not a big dick or a nice butt.
Mine is a nice set of pits with a good amount of hair. A close second is a big nose.”
One popular reply was simple yet intimate: “His smell.” This response captures something primal—how the natural scent of a man can be intoxicating, comforting, or arousing in ways that are hard to describe but impossible to forget.
Another top pick? “Legs and thighs.” Strong, thick legs can be a huge turn-on. There’s something about the power and stability they represent—whether in a pair of tight jeans or fully exposed in bed. It’s a part of the body many overlook, but for some, it’s irresistible.
“Eyes,” one gay man wrote, prompting the original poster (OP) to respond: “Piercing eyes during sex is everything.” This struck a chord. Eye contact during intimate moments can create intensity, emotional connection, and yes, heighten arousal. Sometimes, what turns us on most isn’t touch, but the way someone looks at us.
Several men went classic: “A handsome face.” Whether it’s a chiseled jawline, full lips, a crooked smile, or the way a man furrows his brow—attraction often starts with the face. It’s how we communicate, connect, and fall for someone.
Then there’s the fan-favorite: “Pecs.” The original poster replied to this comment: “Pecs are so sexy, especially sweaty hairy ones.” Whether clean-shaven or furry, smooth or muscular, the chest remains one of the most worshipped parts of the male body. There’s just something undeniably hot about a sculpted chest. Maybe it’s the way pecs flex during a thrust, the feel under your hands, or how they frame the body like armor made for pleasure.
Big dicks and bubble butts may steal the spotlight, but the real magic is often in the details. Tell us—what makes your heart (or something else) skip a beat? We’re all ears—and maybe eyes, hands, and lips too. Is it something that caught you off guard? Do you go wild for a man’s forearms? The curve of his lower back? The way his ears poke out just slightly?
What do you notice first? Which body part does your gaze linger on longest? Leave a comment below and let us know.
Probably the very 1st thing is if he seems relaxed, angry, or nervous/quiet/upset. Nothing wrong with any of those…just to be respectful of their feelings.
His face, then my eyes proceed downward to see if the rest is as hot.
First, I notice build, specifically weight. Prefer relatively lean. Then Face. Do I think he’s attractive to me? Very subjective, and not model handsome. Just do I think he’s attractive for some reason?
I think I’d like to adjust my response above. Yours rings truer than mine!
The first thing I notice about a man is how he carries himself. If a see a guy and my “Man Alert” goes off, I scan him from head to toe. “Too much of a good thing” is just that. Shoulders that are too broad, arms and legs that are overly thick, or an overly muscular butt can often cause me to smile, but to move along. A long mane, well-groomed hair, a buzz cut, or bald can fit a guy or not. A suit, a uniform, a polo with shorts, gym clothes, or work clothes. Does he look like… Read more »
A generic gym body is very unappealing to me.
Face, the the rest.
I’m happy to see nose is mentioned. I thought that was something that only I was into. But yes, a big, protruding nose is hot, as are full lips. Unfortunately, I’ve only kissed one guy thus far who had really full lips. It was so hot! Big lips and nose are so attractive to me the guy doesn’t need to have any other attractive traits:)
How he keep himself. Clean, smells good. Then his body. Doesn’t have to be Adonis but takes care of himself. Then bulge
His physical characteristics: height, build, then his eyes and ability to make eye contact, how he carries himself, the way he’s dressed. His voice, I’m a baritone; his manner of speak, ability to carry on a conversation is incredibly important, considering; I’m just really direct. His overall attitude/personality type.
His hair. And probably his pheromones. Something is missing from most straight guys, some attractive scent that only works on women. I look for many things, including the likelihood of aging well.
