“Not the way I wanted to do this but the chance to do it when I was ready was taken from me.”
Jeff Molina has come out publicly as bisexual on Friday thru his social media account after an intimate video of him with another man circulated on social media. This makes him the first openly-bisexual male fighter to have competed in the UFC.
He said in his statement on Twitter:
Welp.. this f***ing sucks
TLDR: im bi
Not the way I wanted to do this but the chance to do it when I was ready was taken from me.
I’ve tried to keep my dating life private from social media. I’ve dated girls my whole life and suppressed feelings I had throughout high school being on the wrestling team, throughout college pursuing MMA, and even after making part of the dream happen and getting into the UFC.
I’m a pretty masculine dude and that bro-y banter and sus sense of humor has always been how I am. The thought of my buddies, teammates, and ppl I look up to looking at me different let alone treating me different for something I can’t control was something I couldn’t fathom. In a sport like this where a majority of the fans being the homophobic c***suckers they are I didn’t see myself doing this during this part of my career. I wanted to be known for my skills and what I’ve dedicated the last 11 years of my life to not and not the “bi ufc fighter” that I’m sure would just be translated to “gay UFC fighter”.
To the awful disturbed person that decided to post this ishh I hope it was worth it.
At the end of the day I know my character, morals, and who I am as a person. As much as I’m getting hated/s***ted on I’m getting an equal amount of support & it means a f*** ton
Last not but not least @benthebanedavis u a freak
The 25-year-old holds an 11-2 pro-MMA record and is 3-0 in the UFC. He reportedly made headlines during his fight in June 2022 because he wore “a pair of shorts with the UFC’s lettering colored with a rainbow.” The fight resulted in Molina taking home the split decision win against Kazakh flyweight Zhalgas Zhumagulov.
Molina was suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) way back in January 2023 amid an ongoing investigation into a gaming scheme involving his coach, James Krause. Molina was accused of having “substantial” involvement in said betting scandal that rocked UFC. Read more here.
Check out below some of the netizen’s reactions to Molina’s coming out:
The first question to be asked?: How did a video of him and another males get passed into the social media? The second question to be asked?: Who planted the intimate encounter with another male? Was it deliberate? Was it accidental? Regardless, it got Molina to proclaim his “Bisexuality” as an acceptable revelation of having had “Homosexual Sex”? Was proclaiming “Bisexuality” less condemning than proclaiming “Homosexuality?” It’s all about what form of Homosexuality would be the most acceptable based on his Race,. Ethnicity and Gender? Is it better to be Bisexual? Is it worse to be Homosexual? Give him a… Read more »
He was likely betrayed by a lover. You’re not reacting in a very nice way.
The truth is sometimes bitter and I sincerely doubt he was betrayed by a lover? This is not necessarily a “Shakespearean Tragedy”?
When you play, sometimes, you pay. It is a Lesson better learned rather quickly?
This is the second time I have strongly agreed with you. Unapproved release of a sex tape is never good. That guy thinking it was a publicity stunt just has no clue how some people are. I have seen people tey to destroy whole lives over some slight, or because they couldn’t have their whole way, or just to be able to grab the “fame” (infamy is more like it) of being “inside” and able to do it. Sometimes people agree to do a vid for private use, for memories. But there are also ways to hide cameras. Not every… Read more »
You’re missing the point here. Coming out should be “his” decision and on “his” terms when “he” was ready. People out here outing folks for the fun of it is not funny and can be extremely costly to one’s career. It can also put someone in his status in danger of personal and physical attacks.
Be that as it may?
How could he be depicted in a video having sex with another male without his knowledge?
Since when is sex depicted by a video without its associated equipment displayed?
Do you have ANY idea how tiny inexpensive, off-the-shelf technology is these days? There could be a camera hiding in a pack of cigarettes on someone’s table and could film everything. A regular smart phone with video capability isn’t exactly difficult to conceal. How many times have we found out about some creep hiding tiny cameras in public bathrooms, dressing rooms, locker rooms, etc. taking pictures and video of people who rightfully assume that they’re in a place of relative privacy? And yes, how many times have people knowingly engaged in sex with another person and filmed it with a… Read more »
And everyone’s term should include the right to “come out” or not. Everyone should have the right to make their sexuality public or reserve it for only those people who they want know.
Some members of “The Community” demand that every LGTBQ+ person comes out because it’s somehow owed by nature of their birth that they be public. Isn’t social behavioral lock-stepping what “The Community” claims it has always fought against?
The only time that I think outing someone is the proper thing to do is when the person in question has been a hypocrite and said and/or done horrible things to the LGBTQ+ community, such as lawmakers caught having gay sex in public restrooms and virulent, hateful preachers bedding rent boys in hotel rooms. I know that many people in the community even think that outing these monsters is wrong. That’s certainly not how I see it, but their opinion, like mine, doesn’t speak for everyone. The concept of sin can be discussed for another million years, but in my… Read more »
Who the hell leaked that video? Awful! Thinking that the video would destroy his career cus of all the damn homophobic people out there. And why do sports having shitty homophobic fans anyways? Just enjoy the damn sport and shut it!
Bless him. I have met at least one other MMA fighter who was bi, maybe two. I hope he can find more. Shit on the person who violated his rights. Remember when The Rock came out as bi? No one does. But he did. Before he got to be a lead actor.
Whoa, I didn’t know that about Dwyane Johnson, I’ve always had a crush on him, he’s married, hasn’t hurt him a one bit!
How bout this: stop being a freak. I know that is more difficult for younger people in a post-Only Fans world but the newsflash actually is that nobody cares whether you are masculine, feminine, about your sexuality. Really, in 2023 nobody cares. Your sex life (even, love life) is really your own business, as long as you are not hurting anyone.
He apparently isn’t one of the most prominent fighters out there so, after the immediate shock, whatever publicity he can find, he’ll get?
I suspect, it was rather programmed?
Well said, Jack.
For most people now, being LGTBQ+ is irrelevant. It’s highly common now for people to say “so what?” or “I really don’t care and frankly I wish no one felt I needed to know.”
The real story is not this guy’s sexuality, but how he handles it going forward. The UFC (leadership and members) is historically behind times when it comes sexuality, but it has had little opportunities to address it. We’ll wait for the overall response Hopefully, they have made some progress and he’ll some support from prominent people.
He will handle it in whatever way will be more advantageous? I wouldn’t refer to him as
“Gorgeous” or “Handsome”?
We’ve seen worse and we have seen better?
Yes, the unusual has become the usual. A reality of overkill by the Media and by the
Today, the mundane has become the norm and being “Queer” is no more distinctive or attractive than sitting on a heated toilet seat!
Seems to me the real story will be how the UFC chooses to handle it, not him.
And the fans.
If NOBODY cares about peoples sexuality, then why is it that this guy has received nasty and threatening messages when the video was leaked? It’s happened before, it happens now, and it will happen tomorrow. While society overall may be a little more acccepting and supportive, people’s careers, no matter what the field, can still be destroyed when personal details about their sex lives are revealed, even today. To me, someone’s personal sexual behavior is a private thing and it shouldn’t matter, but the fact is, to a lot of small-minded people, it very much does. Some of those people,… Read more »
Where is the video?
Probably not worth watching except as a mere curiosity?
I don’t care what he is. He need to eat and gain some weight. He looks like he’s suffering from malnutrition. You can see his rib cages.
Much like, unfortunately, how Celine Dion has come to look. A BMI number so that she does not look healthy or vibrant.
Lol, that’s just what I was thinking, being the nurturing type that I tend to be; just want to feed him, he looks rather severe.
I was also forced to come out . you will not believe how much stronger you will become !! very proud of how you handled it ! stay and be strong !!
There are more athletes who are gay-bi than anyone realizes, just like the warriors/gladiators of the past, “women are for babies, men are for love” as it was said during the Roman empire.
It’s already getting to the point where it’s just not so shocking or surprising either. The “outing” will soon have no affect.
You’re right brother, I was to a men’s basketball tournament recently and one of the coaches for one of the teams was gay and a referee calling the game was also gay. The coach wife passed away. They were married for 20 years. Now he’s sleeping with his live-in male lover.
bisexuality doesn’t exist, it’s a term men use to make themselves feel better and be more accepting to the general public.
It’s 2023. There are plenty of men, women too for that matter and of course Binaries, who have mountains of fabulous, pleasurable sex (love, too) with people of the same, opposite or other sex.
There also are, unfortunately, some members of “The Community” who believe they are entitled to try to “police” others’ sexual lives, love lives and overall behavior into their own set of narrow beliefs.
