Anyway, we hope you are all having an awesome week! Here with us today on A4A Blog to talk about photography and all things dick pic is Dylan Rosser. He is a world-renowned photographer whose latest book, titled Penis Portraits, will interest you if, you know, you love the male member. And, well, who doesn’t?
Dylan, who originally hailed from South Africa, has been living between Ibiza and the UK for the last 20 years. He started shooting soon after moving to London in 2000 and he has, since then, been to many cities such as Paris, Los Angeles, New York City, Bali, Sydney, and Cape Town because of his work.
Dylan told us that he started shooting for Penis Portraits in 2015 in between regular shoots. He gradually built up a large collection of images featuring many models. He said that because the shots were totally anonymous, there were plenty of guys who wanted to take part and explore their exhibitionist side.
Without further ado, we give you Dylan Rosser!
Adam4Adam (A4A): What inspired you to be a photographer?
Dylan Rosser (DR): I love the male form and I am a big fan of Herb Ritts and Greg Gormans work, but I was never intending to get into photography myself, so I studied graphic design. It was only with the advent of digital photography that I decided to test the waters in my spare time. I try to merge that design background with my photography as I like simple and graphic images with not too much fuss.
A4A: What is your favorite subject? What is the best subject for you?
DR: The male body, ideally a dancer’s physique. Lean and athletic and ideally, no tattoos… but that is becoming increasingly rare to find these days.
A4A: What is your most memorable photography project and why?
DR: I don’t have one in particular. I like to incorporate my shoots into my travels so a lot of images will remind me of that experience, but shooting in Badwater Basin in California was pretty amazing. I have not even released those images because I try to save things for future book projects and I’m not sure yet where those images will fit.
A4A: What is the story or the inspiration behind Penis Portraits? What made you embark on this project?
DR: Going back to my design background, I found that the closer you can crop into a subject, the more interesting it can get, and the more visually pleasing it is. When I bought a new macro lens I started to experimenting, getting closer and closer to the subject. The image that is on the cover of the book was one of the first I shot with the lens and it made me think maybe there was a book idea in it. But I had to shoot a lot of dicks, over many years, to come up with the variety of images I needed for the book. I didn’t want the viewer to become bored so I had to mix it up with soft and hard, pre-cum, jerk off, cut, uncut, color, B&W, etc. I designed the book as well so it was important to have a good flow from page to page.
A4A: Will Penis Portraits have a second book (book 2)?
DR: I definitely have enough content for volume two, but my next book will be called PARADISE, and I have been shooting that for many years and have great shots from Mexico, Hawaii, Cape Town, Ibiza, etc. However, I still want to shoot some more content for that and hopefully aim to release that in 2023.

Why ideally lean guys with athletic builds and no tattoos? That sounds like a sexual preference, not the subject of a photography shoot. Taking pictures of “guys you think are hot” isn’t art. Isn’t the point of being an artist to look for beauty in a variety of your subjects, not just personally what you jerk off to? This “artist” seems shallow.
