Have you been following the 2020 Summer Olympics, guys? Officially, it’s called the Games of the XXXII Olympiad. It started on July 21 in Tokyo, Japan and is expected to finish on August 8, 2021.

Reportedly, out of 11,326 competitors and participants in this year’s Olympics, over 160 of them are publicly out LGBTQ athletes. You can check the complete list here which includes the countries they represent.

We have been following some of the competitions and we are happy and proud to share that openly gay athlete Tom Daley won his first Olympic diving gold medal in the men’s synchronized 10 meters platform with his partner, Matty Lee.

Having said all that, our eagle eyes spotted quite a handful of Olympic hotties, some of whom are the following:

  • Tom Daley – the 27-year-old British diver, television personality, and YouTube vlogger clinched his first Olympic gold medal this year. It’s exactly 13 years after he first started competing in the Olympics at the age of 14, and 20 years after he first started diving at the age of 7.

Daley, who came out in 2013 through a YouTube video, married Oscar-winning filmmaker Dustin Lance Black in 2017.

  • Luke Michael Gebbie  –  the 24-year-old Filipino-Kiwi Olympic swimmer will be competing for a spot in men’s 50m freestyle event on Friday, July 30. He previously broke the Philippine record in Men’s 100-meter Freestyle with a time of 49.64s.

  • Nick Wagman – is Team USA’s alternate for dressage event. The 48-year-old equestrian lives in San Diego with his husband Kurt.

In an interview with NBC, Wagman revealed that horses are what got him through high school “in one piece.” He said, “I didn’t have a lot of gay friends, to be honest with you. … I was targeted as ‘the gay kid,’ even though I wasn’t out. So this was my outlet. It was my safe space.”

  • Max Irving – this member of the US Men’s Water Polo team is a three-time All-American at UCLA. Irving is 26 years old, he hails from Long Beach, California. The 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo is his first Olympics.

  • Lee Yong-dae – this 32-year-old professional badminton player from South Korea started playing badminton at the age of 8. Lee won the gold medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing for Mixed doubles while he earned a bronze at the 2012 Olympics in London for Men’s doubles.

  • Douglas Souza – is a member of Brazilian men’s national volleyball team who won the gold in Rio in 2016. Souza is openly gay, and this 25-year-old is the most followed volleyball player in the world on Instagram, a photo and video sharing social media app.

“I want to be remembered as Douglas, who made history as the first homosexual in volleyball who managed to play at a high level,” Souza reportedly said last year, according to World of Volley. “I want to be a mirror of nonstandard people. I am nonstandard. I’m also extremely thin and that scares some people.  If I, a skinny, tiny boy from the interior of São Paulo, succeeded, you’ll also succeed. That’s how I want to be remembered.”
