Century of Love is a Thai fantasy romance drama that mixes reincarnation, immortality, tragedy, and BL romance into one emotionally intense story. The series stars Daou Pittaya Saechua as San and Offroad Kantapon Jindataweephol as Vee, with supporting performances from Cookie Yada Suwanpattana, Pond Ponlawit Ketprapakorn, and Gumpuns Koravich Sarasin. Directed by Worawit Khuttiyayothin and Thanawat Panyarin, the series is one of the most talked-about BL titles because of its unusual supernatural premise and emotional storytelling.

The story begins in 1920s Thailand, where San, a Chinese immigrant, falls deeply in love with a woman named Khun Wat/Watfah. After she dies tragically, San makes a supernatural pact involving a mystical five-colored stone connected to the goddess Nüwa. The stone grants him immortality, but it also becomes a curse. San is forced to spend an entire century waiting for Wat to be reincarnated before the stone destroys him permanently. Just as his final year arrives, he meets Vee — a carefree young man who appears to be Wat reborn. The problem is that Vee is nothing like the woman San remembers, and San initially rejects the idea that this irritating stranger could truly be his soulmate.

That conflict becomes the emotional core of the series. San is trapped between memory and reality, clinging to an idealized love from the past while struggling to accept that reincarnation may not look the way he expected. Vee, meanwhile, enters a dangerous world tied to the stone, ancient promises, and enemies connected to San’s immortality. The show constantly asks whether love is tied to a physical form or something deeper that survives across lifetimes.

The fantasy elements are important, but Century of Love works mainly because of its emotional themes. The series explores grief, obsession, destiny, sacrifice, and identity while balancing romance with suspense and action. It also plays with the idea of gay love transcending time, turning a reincarnation drama into something both tragic and hopeful. Fans especially praised the chemistry between Daou and Offroad, whose performances helped make even the more fantastical scenes feel emotionally believable. Reddit viewers repeatedly described the show as surprisingly emotional, addictive, and well-paced throughout its 10-episode run.

The series contains 10 episodes running approximately 50 to 55 minutes each. It originally aired on Thailand’s One 31 network before streaming internationally. Viewers in many countries can watch it on Netflix, while some regions can also access it on iQIYI.
