Luke Evans stars as Adam, an ex-convict seeking forgiveness from the son who grew up without him after serving a 16-year sentence for murder. As Adam walks the precarious path of reconciliation, the ominous presence of the vengeful brother of his past victim adds tension to the narrative. Meanwhile, Mike (portrayed by Rory Culkin), is yearning to break free from the criminal endeavors orchestrated by his drug-dealing uncle, Leff (played by Alex Pettyfer). When the fates of Adam and Mike collide, an unavoidable confrontation ensues, offering them a fleeting chance at redemption.

Written and directed by indie filmmaker Phil Allocco, 5lbs of Pressure promises a gripping tale of intertwining destinies. The film also stars Zac Adams, Rudy Pankow, Stephanie Leonidas, Savannah Steyn, and Lorraine Burroughs. Presented by Lionsgate, the film is now showing on select US theaters. It’s been released through video-on-demand platforms as well since Friday, March 8.
