Sam Smith’s much-anticipated third studio album called Love Goes is finally here, guys!

You can listen to the album in full below:

The release of the album has been pushed back for several months because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Not only that, it has even been renamed from To Die For to Love Goes because Smith thought the former might be an insensitive choice given the world’s situation right now.

Love Goes—which was released this Friday, October 30, 2020 through Capitol Recordshas 17 tracks and it features collaborations with various artists such as Burna Boy, Labrinth, Normani, Calvin Harris, and Demi Lovato. Moreover, the US Target exclusive contains two bonus tracks while the Japanese edition has three bonus tracks.

Smith described Love Goes as their first “proper heartbreak” record during an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. They said, “I’d say [this was] the first proper time I’ve been actually heartbroken. That feeling of they’re gone, you can’t sleep, the really, really bad feeling.”

Smith added, “The others were the idea of it and it was pure unrequited love. This, I would like to say that we loved each other. So, I definitely, definitely loved him. So yeah, it was proper.”

Apple Music describes Love Goes as “an album full of life-affirming pop, as well as disco, acoustic guitars, and cinematic strings.”

Entertainment Weekly Magazine, on the other hand, said of Love Goes: “Smith’s new album is rooted in a sort of open-vein vulnerability; the bruised, tender manifesto of a Kid Who Cares Too Much.”

We personally love Sam Smith’s cover of Coldplay’s Fix You, which is one of the bonus tracks of the Japanese edition of the album. We also think that How Do You Sleep, I’m Ready (with Demi Lovato), Diamonds (which we talked about previously here) as well as Kids Again are amazing.

In Kids Again, welove the beat of the song and we also found its lyrics relatable not to mention it packs an emotional gut punch:

Can’t believe I still avoid the east side/Even though I know that you don’t live there now/Lately you’re the only thing on my mind/And I can’t stop myself on drivin’ by your house/Ooh, every time I hear our song it kind of hurts me still/And, ooh, even after all this time, I kinda miss you still
