Grammy Award-winning R&B artist Frank Ocean’s 18-year-old brother, Ryan Breaux, reportedly passed away in a tragic car crash early Sunday morning on Westlake Boulevard just north of Skelton Canyon Circle.
Both the Thousand Oaks Police Department and the Ventura County Fire Department responded to the single vehicle traffic collision that happened on August 2, 2020, at around 01:33 am, according to police report.
Out of respect for Frank and his family, we politely ask you guys not to be asking for new music or shows. Thank you ❤️

The car Breaux was in—along with a friend and classmate identified by the media as Ezekial (Zeek) Bishop, 20 years old—veered off the road and crashed into a tree. Reportedly, the “car was also ‘severely damaged’ and ‘cut in half on impact.'”
Thousand Oaks Police Department said, “Upon arrival, deputies discovered the vehicle engulfed in flames. The two occupants of the vehicle were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Ventura County Fire Department.”
Thousand Oaks Police Traffic Bureau is still currently investigating the collision. It is unclear who was driving the vehicle and the cause of the crash remains unknown as well but police believe that speed might have been a factor.
Both Breaux and Bishop were members of the Oaks Christian High School Class of 2019. According to this article, Bishop was a freshman at Cal State Northridge at the time of his passing and was a “standout member of the OCHS football and track teams.”
The authorities have not yet officially confirmed the identities of the victims and Ocean himself has yet to speak about the accident. But their friends however, such as actor Pierce Brosnan’s son Paris, have taken to social media to pay tribute and speak about their grief:
Dear Media. Please let us grieve and heal privately. Not everyone is looking to be interviewed or wants to be on camera. Especially in this community #ZeekBishop #EzekialBishop #OaksChristian #RyanBreaux #RIHZeek #RIHRyan pic.twitter.com/BYeYd6RfUM
