Do you love dancing in your living room, guys? I think we all love to dance in our living room especially since no one is watching the steps we are making and this particular song sings about that and more.
Cameron Hawthorn’s Dancing in the Living Room is also about a gay man or woman being able to dance freely with one’s boyfriend or partner or girlfriend in the confines of their own living room because “it’s not as easy to dance as a couple in public together as it is for a straight couple.”
In an exclusive interview with Advocate, Hawthorn explained his inspiration for his song and we quote, “I remember always thinking how special it was to dance freely with my boyfriend in the living room of our apartment — being gay, it’s not as easy to dance as a couple in public together as it is for a straight couple. I wanted to express how special that moment is for a couple, when it’s just the two of you in the privacy of your own four walls.”
Cameron Hawthorn has a beautiful voice and we think Dancing in the Living Room is lovely and nothing tugs at our heart more than this line: “I’ve got you in my arms and I’m right at home.”
Check out Mama’s Love, another Hawthorn’s song below:
Who here loves to dance in their living room with their mom or sister or boyfriend or husband or just with their friends and heck, even just with yourselves?
Happy viewing!
Underwhelming. I’ll pass.
How come gay couples dressed too casual and the straight ones super classy? I would’ve love to see that classy retro style in our gay couples too. Over all, nice video idea but song too much of a sleeper for my taste.
