Music has the power to transform any moment—from late-night drives to candlelit dinners—and yes, even sex. The right song can turn up the heat, tease the senses, and sync your bodies in a rhythm that feels downright sexy. Whether you like slow and sensual, loud and dirty, or complete silence, sound plays a bigger role in our sex lives than we often realize. That’s why one gay man’s post online hit a chord (pun intended) when he asked: “What music do y’all listen to during sex?” He added, “I always wanted to have sex with Lana Del Rey in the background.”
His confession sparked a wide range of reactions—from romantic to raunchy to downright relatable. Some guys are all about the silence, letting the raw sounds of sex speak for themselves like this gay man who confessed, “I like it silent ’cause I’m pretty verbal with my guy. Lots of dirty talk.”
Another chimed in with blunt honesty: “No music. I want to hear my cheeks clap.” Fair enough.
Others go full DJ mode depending on the mood. One man broke it down with impressive variety: “Kinky: A mix of industrial techno, power noise, punk, and hyperpop. Vanilla: goth rock/post-punk, ambient, indie pop, Beyoncé.”
For many gay men, chill is the name of the game. Smooth background beats help set the vibe without overpowering it: “Usually some pretty chill electronic, stuff like Four Tet, Bicep, Bonobo.”
And then there are those who don’t need a curated playlist—just a little background noise to keep things casual. “I kinda prefer TV over music, it always ends up being in the background naturally anyway and less ‘setting up’ the mood.”
Meanwhile, another guy added: “It’s weird—I used to always have music in the background in college and then one day I just stopped. Now I only put music on if I need to make sure other people don’t hear us.”
But then sometimes, simplicity is king. “I just want to hear moaning.”
What about you, Adam4Adam blog readers? Do you like to play music during sex? If so, what’s your go-to genre—or your ultimate mood-setting artist? Do you plan the soundtrack ahead of time, or just let whatever’s playing roll? Or do you prefer the symphony of moans, breath, and body? Is there an album you’ll always associate with a memorable hookup or long-time lover? Let us know your thoughts and stories in the comments section below—your playlist might just inspire someone’s next bedroom session.
Doesn’t really matter one way or another. Lol. When I’m getting it in, I’m only focused on my sex partner.
Honestly it doesn’t matter as that’s not what’s being focused on. To me, it’s white noise for the background…just like the tv being on as I lie in bed.
Music has a time stamp for me, back to whenever I first heard it (a summer, a location, a person, etc.) I’m good with some music while with partners. Rock, jazz, classical, fusion, folk, coffee house are all fine. Other genres I’m good with others enjoying them.
If I had a partner I would explore making love to certain music, such as Scriabin’s Poem of Ecstasy, and Ravel’s Daphnis and Chloe, other music is likely to be a distraction. Bossa Nova is sexy overall as background, but I never use it. It’s a distraction for some people.
Doesn’t matter to me but do prefer more quiet so I can hear him tell me what he likes, what to do, hear his grunts and groans. Hear the slap as his belly hits my ass as he is hitting it from behind. Nothing like a guy telling me what he’s going to do to me as he is doing it. Then hearing his groans as he unloads inside of me. That moment he goes deep and freezes. I know he’s filling me up. Then as he lays on top of me, his cock against mine as I feel his… Read more »
Totally understood , I like being with a verbal guy,
That’s what I’m sayin Tim! If you worried about music you’re not doing your job. Gotta make that pussy sing to him. Make him cum like hot lava!
music can be a sexual aid nothing mysterious about it on the same level as scented candles, incense, lighting, flowers, et al all create a mood which should facilitate its intended purposes
music can be a sexual aid
I find music, especially loud music, tv, even porn to be distracting. I like to hear my partner’s moans and noises when we are together. That’s how I know what is giving him pleasure. I met one person who had to have the news on while playing. Talk about a boner killer!
Just the word “Trump” would do that.
For sure!
Almost as MUCH as OBIDEN!!!!!!!! 🙂
Enjoying the Musk/ Trump cat fight. How wonder how many clowns are sorry they voted for Trump. Lol
I’ve enjoyed music to enhance the mood (with or without the candles, aromatics, etc.); everything from Classical to Barbra…..including Classical Barbra! lol Now that I’ve dated myself, I’ll share my most intense moment, when I held the love of my life in my arms as Barbra (and I) sang to him from the Broadway Album…..”Someday”, among other tracks. We weren’t having sex….just cuddling….on the bedroom floor. Just recalling that time makes me verklempt! Oh, for another moment like that.
Bet that felt as SMOOTH and AWESOME as BUTTAH!!!!! 🙂
I’m into black guys. I like to hear hardcore rap when they are sucking me. It gets me going. The music gets me charged up to take some ass.
That’s not really important to me, I love to hear ‘us’ in the act/s though.
Music is ok but id rather have porn playing with verbal guys
As long as you don’t play something stupid like Beyoncé.
No music or noise except BOTH of our moans and deep breathing and everything else that goes with smoking hot sex!!!!!!!!! 🙂
