A gay man online recently sparked a steamy debate with a no-judgment question:

Would you ever give a blowjob at a real gloryhole, or are you too shy? I’ve always found the idea of a real gloryhole incredibly hot – the anonymity, the tension, the pure focus on pleasure.

But I know it’s not for everyone. Some guys are super into it, others feel like it’s too risky or impersonal.

I’m curious:
– Have you ever done it?
– Would you try it if you had the chance?
– What would make it a turn-on (or turn-off) for you?

Not judging, just genuinely interested in how others feel about it.

As expected, answers came in fast—some gay men were enthusiastic about it, others skeptical. For many, only the idea or fantasy is hotter than reality, like this gay man who replied, “For me it’s hot in theory, but gross in reality. I need to be physically attracted to the person and with a gloryhole, you don’t know what’s on the other side, nor what the other side might ‘gift’ you in regards to an STD. Before anyone comes to explain that meds can cure all that, sure, but I still don’t want them. But to each their own.”

Others, on the other hand, are all about the thrill. One guy admitted, “I’ve used a gloryhole lots of times; I like the anonymity.”

Then there are those who live for the fantasy—and are actively trying to turn it into a lifestyle. “I’ve always wanted to be the blower. It’s one of my favorite porn categories,” said an OTR trucker who have been thinking of a way to turn his sleeper curtain into a built-in glory hole. “I’m wondering how many guys would come into a semi-truck to cum.”

For some, gloryholes aren’t just a fantasy—they’re formative experiences. “My first sexual experience was actually at a glory hole,” one gay man confessed. “Have used many more over the years.”

Moreover, there’s that element of surprise that seems to be part of the allure, especially for men who came of age during a different time. “I used to cruise glory holes all the time during the 90s and for some reason, the BJs at a glory hole were always the best BJs I’ve ever gotten.”

But not everyone is a fan of gloryhole like this guy who prefers a little familiarity, “I think it’s super-hot if you know the person on the other side. It’s like the best of both worlds. Like you get to focus on the dick but you know that you’re into the person.”

It’s similar to this guy who doesn’t want a barrier at all, defeating the purpose of gloryholes. “I personally don’t prefer them because I love when a guy’s hands tangle in my hair, looking at a guy’s facial expressions, and hearing him moan.”

What’s clear from their comments is that gloryholes are far from a one-size-fits-all fantasy. For some, they’re the ultimate erotic experience; for others, they’re impersonal and even off-putting. But regardless of which side you’re on, the topic definitely gets people talking.

Having said all that, it’s important to remember that while the physical barrier of a gloryhole might give a false sense of safety, it doesn’t block sexually transmitted infections. Oral sex can still transmit STIs like chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, herpes, and even HIV in rare cases. Use condoms or barriers when possible, and get tested regularly. If you’re going to explore anonymous play, take smart precautions—not just for yourself, but for your future partners too.

So, what about you, Adam4Adam blog readers? Have you ever tried gloryholes? If not yet, would you ever try one, or is it something that only works for you in porn? What makes it hot—or totally not—for you? Do you think gloryholes are hotter when they’re anonymous, or when you know the person behind the wall? Are they relics of the past, or still very much part of the gay culture of today? Share your stories, thoughts, and fantasies in the comments section below.
