It’s December 1, guys, it’s the day dedicated to World AIDS Day—the first ever global health day established in 1988. It’s an observance held every year to give people around the world the opportunity to show support for people living with HIV, to unite against HIV and AIDS, and to honor and remember those who have died from the virus and from AIDS-related illnesses worldwide.
And, just as we had done during these past few years, we will again donate 100% of our sales from the VIP and PRO memberships on A4A to The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation (ETAF). A VIP/PRO membership here on A4A means access to nice features such as but not limited to: more photos in your profile, ads-free, unlimited blocks and favorites, priority support, and many more! So not only you’ll do a great action but you’ll even get something out of it.
You also have the option to donate $20-50-100 or $250 instead and—just like the membership sales—the entire amount donated to A4A on December first, will go to ETAF.Â
Why choose ETAF, you ask?
Well, it’s because ALL the money donated to ETAF goes directly to helping people living with HIV/AIDS as the estate of Ms. Taylor pays for ETAF’s operating costs. Armed with her “vision of social justice and human rights for all people with HIV and AIDS” and her hopes of an “AIDS-free world,” the late film legend Elizabeth Taylor founded the organization in 1991. Today, ETAF has granted help to various organizations in 44 countries around the world and to almost all 50 states in the United States.
Hurry and grab this opportunity to help the AIDS community with us. Support our campaign by donating here or by signing up for the VIP/PRO membership. Simply click this link to choose your VIP plan at $25, $45, or $80 or PRO at $75, $135, $240. What’s more is that we’ll match your donation so not only is your payment going to be donated to ETAF in full, we’ll also double it.
Thank you for supporting our campaign every year. As in the past, we will post an announcement about the 2019 total donation proceeds within the next few days. Last year, you guys raised $4056.50 for the ETAF, and Adam4Adam matched that donation for a total of $8113. Here’s to hoping we do even better this 2019! Cheers!
It’s highly ironic that a social-media website pushing endless porn and casual sex among its members is simultaneously advertising World AIDS Day…
What is the link? To avoid HIV we should all be virgins? Sex is nice and fun. We just need to protect ourselves, not add to the stigma. PrEP for example and condoms protect from HIV and allow us to still have sex.
??? Where else, would one “simultaneously advertise, while pushing endless porn & casual-sex?” I can, recall the day when
I would go to one of my favorite gay-bars; they were handing out condoms… somewhat the same thing, “have sex but safely.”
The “pushing” pays the bills, so we can have such sites as this, remember that.
I can think of other and ‘harmful’ ironies, can’t you? But, I won’t go political, etc., on you 😉 .
Like the dilemma US pharmacies find themselves in when they are criticized for selling alcohol and nicotine products while advertising they exist to promote health. One major chain dropped the nicotine products, losing millions of dollars in revenue, but then being able to promote themselves as pro-health.
Amen. Use a condom, actually know your partner. Been working for me since high school
The Trump administration is set to begin nationwide distribution of free HIV prevention medication to uninsured patients on Dec. 2 to coincide with World AIDS Day.
Gilead Sciences Inc. donated enough of its drug Truvada to cover 200,000 people for a maximum of 11 years to aid in President Donald Trump’s pledge to end the spread of HIV. A Gilead spokesperson said the distribution, which will be done through the Department of Health and Human Services, was set to start Dec. 2. The administration is aiming to get 50% of people at risk for HIV on PrEP therapy by 2025.
